Out of My Territory but Still Interesting
I had this one whittled down to White Checkered or Common Checkered Skipper, thanks to everyone who filled me in on it. It is a Common. I am still new to butterflies, but I felt there was to much white on the FW to be a Common. Shows what I know.
This small butterfly is a Common Checkered Skipper. Really nice blog about an area, to tell the truth I knew little about. Any state where you can find Black Rails, Lesser Prairie Chickens, Black-capped Vireo and Chihuahuan Raven is pretty unique. Later this month I'm going to be passing through Oklahoma on my way to Texas with a friend and I was wondering if you knew of any good sites for Lesser Prairie Chicken within 100 miles of Oklahoma City. If you do email me at chaon08@yahoo.com and if not I look forward to continuing reading your blog.
